Parcel in the grass

Saw this little webby enclosure in the grass yesterday.  What could it be?  Some spidery lair, no doubt.  Perhaps the nursery of a nursery web spider protecting her spiderlings but it's a bit late in the year for that.  Suggestions please on an email to filnorefriends@gmail.com
