BRIGHT GREEN TREE FLOWERS

Suddenly there are a lot of trees bursting into golden foliage

But a closer look reveals that this is not leafage but flowers.

      

The Norway Maple (Acer platanoides) is very striking at this time of year.  

But the flowers soon drop the unimportant parts to the ground.

While the helicopter seeds are slowly developing, the distinctive leaves start to appear.
