Meadowsweet is a fairly recent arrival at Filnore Woods, just downhill from the pylon.
'Meadow' because it usually indicates slightly moister ground in a ditch or a streamside or a damp meadow. And the perfume of the flowers is certainly sweet. But if you pick and crush a leaf it has a medical smell, rather like Germolene ointment.
