You might easily miss these pink flowers close to the ground
but they are common in short grass, mingling with other small plants, or growing a foot or so tall when they get the chance.
The flowers soon fade but can lighten up a dull grass verge.
The leaves are pinnate, having several leaflets on each stalk.
The name storksbill comes from the long pointed seed capsules that will appear
when the flowers fade. These show up nicely against a black litter bin
