WOW

For several years now the Friends of Filnore Woods have been hosting groups of occupational therapy students from UWE (University of the West of England).

They came again this February and with great gusto built steps and cleared encroaching brambles.

Three different teams came on three different days.

The steps up from the footbridge to the viewpoint were repaired,
replaced and extended up the slope.

And brambles were cleared at the top of the slope.  It can be a lonely job.

But with a large team you can make a significant impact.

And the staircase was extended on the opposite slope,
up from the footbridge towards the top meadow.

This has always been one of the muddiest pathways on the site.

Each step received some woodchip.  Transporting it all the way up here was a strenuous task.

Now more woodchip and side poles to retain it will have to be installed by the usual band of stalwart volunteers from the Friends of Filnore Woods.
